Finish analyzing the chords (Roman numerals with figured bass) in the exposition of the first movement of Beethoven's Sonata Pathètique (first four pages, to be turned in Monday)

OCT 7 —Modal Mixture
Homework:
Take a look at the first movement of Beethoven's Sonata Pathètique (pg 1-9) and analyze its form. Where is the primary theme, transition, secondary theme, closing theme, development, recapitulation (themes therein)? Does it have an introduction or a coda? To which keys does it modulate (key areas)? The next step will be analyzing all the chords, but for now, just look at the overall structure. We'll talk about it in class together.
