Program note: This piece was written for NOW Ensemble and inspired by the rediscovery of hope so many folks have experienced recently, as well as my life-long love for sparklers (among other fireworks). The simple joy they bring reminds me that wonderful things can arise out of nowhere and just as quickly expire. So lighten up, have fun, and laugh lots while you can!
