Program note: not all who wander are lost was the first piece I wrote with the guidance of a composition teacher, Judith Lang Zaimont. The piece is dedicated to my nephew Evan on the occasion of his birth, and I set out to write the type of music I would have liked as a small child, with plenty of rhythmic energy among quiet moments.
